Dragoon Unlimited is more than just a brand. We're a community of outdoor enthusiasts who share the same values of equality, environmentalism, and personal empowerment.

1970-2018

The Foundation

Dragoon Unlimited’s story began in the Brazos River Bottoms in West Texas and the Ouachita National Forest of Arkansas. It was there I first enjoyed the taste of outdoor life on weekend and week-long camping trips with my parents.These family outings evolved into a life of adventure which saw me travel the world as an Eagle Scout, survival instructor, Army cavalry trooper and lifelong outdoorsman. I always searched for ways to do things “better”, whether modifying current equipment or building my own. Now, my family and I want to share this passion for the outdoors, adventure and the confidence that comes with the experience.
We also want to be a force for good in our community. To that end, we donate a portion of our proceeds to veteran and other organizations making a difference in the world. When you buy Dragoon Gear you are part of this effort.

2018

— From the Army to Dragoon Unlimited

A lifetime spent outside. Family camping trips. Eagle Scout grit. Years in Army boots—first as an armored vehicle crewman, then as a cavalry officer—training, traveling, and learning what real-world gear actually needs to survive.

When I hung up the uniform, I knew two things:

✔ I wanted to work for myself.
✔ I wanted to put family first.


“Dragoon” comes from my cavalry days.“Unlimited” comes from having no idea where the road led—only that we were going to build something real.

2019

— The First Gear Hits the Ground

We started small and practical: mylar blankets, fire starters, pocket stoves, water filters.

Gear inspired by buddies who lived the same life and demanded more than gimmicks. We were learning the business one callused hand at a time.

2020

— The Pandemic Push

Demand exploded.

We took that momentum and rebuilt the classic poncho liner—adding zippers, improving function, and bringing back the camo patterns everyone grew up with.

2022

— The Smoking Jacket Era

Same legendary camo. Totally new purpose.

We built the ultimate smoking jacket—one that says, without hesitation, 

“I can lounge on the porch… or disappear into the jungle.”
